ProxySOCKS5 makes a JSch session a client of an existing SOCKS service. It does not by itself offer the opposite feature—a SOCKS listener carrying other clients through SSH.

JSch jsch = new JSch();
jsch.setKnownHosts("/home/alex/.ssh/known_hosts");

Session session = jsch.getSession("alex", "ssh.example.net", 22);
ProxySOCKS5 proxy = new ProxySOCKS5("127.0.0.1", 1080);
session.setProxy(proxy);

Run this before the application's SSH authentication and session connection. Provision the known-hosts file with the intended SSH server identity and retain those checks through the proxy.

The proxy object's credential interface, when needed, authenticates to the intermediary. It does not replace the SSH login. For a publicly reachable SSH server where public intermediaries are allowed, the SOCKS5 proxy list offers candidates for ProxySOCKS5. Use the no-proxy-account form shown and confirm that the node permits the actual SSH host and port.

For listener requirements, distinguish fixed forwarding to one predefined target from dynamic SOCKS negotiation for each client. An unrelated tunneling method does not supply that server. Check the installed library's exact public capability rather than interpreting “SOCKS support” as both jobs.
