Proxy Access for Genymotion and Its Android Device
Configure Genymotion Desktop’s own network access and the virtual Android device’s HTTP proxy according to the selected backend.
Desktop sign-in and Android app traffic are separate consumers. Set Genymotion Desktop's HTTP proxy preference for its own service communications, then configure the virtual device using its backend's supported path.
VirtualBox: use Android's Wi-Fi proxy settings with an address reachable from the device. Android loopback names the device itself, and applications still need to consume the HTTP proxy policy. A permitted public-page test on this VirtualBox path can use an unauthenticated endpoint from the HTTP proxy list; enter it in the device’s HTTP proxy fields.
QEMU: Genymotion documents a reverse forward from device port 3333 to host proxy port 8080:
adb reverse tcp:3333 tcp:8080
adb shell settings put global http_proxy localhost:3333
The adb mapping carries the device's localhost connection back to the host service. Without it, localhost:3333 would require an Android-local listener. Replace ports for the intended host proxy and select the same adb target for both commands when several devices exist.
Genymotion notes Android 8.1 and later lacks built-in authenticated HTTP proxy settings. A Desktop account does not supply credentials to Android apps; use a compatible approved integration for such a route.
To remove Android's global HTTP proxy, its documented command is:
adb shell settings put global http_proxy :0
