disable_warnings() changes warning output. It neither adds a CA nor corrects a certificate hostname or chain.

A verification exception can stop a connection whose peer cannot be authenticated. An insecure-request warning can instead report that the request proceeded with verification disabled. Hiding that warning leaves the disabled check unchanged.

For a proxy-related certificate failure, retain the original error and identify the connection and certificate involved. Configure the intended trust source and endpoint name, keeping normal verification. Restore it after any controlled diagnostic that temporarily changed it.

Logging policy can be adjusted independently once the connection's authentication is understood. A quieter log supplies no additional trust evidence.
