For a request that works in Firefox, begin with what Firefox actually sent:

  1. Open Network Monitor, reproduce the operation and select its request. Use Copy → Copy as cURL.
  2. Keep destination, method, body and relevant headers for the first comparison. Select the route separately by adding:
--proxy http://proxy.example:8080

For a separate permitted public-page comparison without copied credentials, cookies, private body data or proxy credentials, the HTTP proxy list offers candidate endpoints. Then compare the response and failure stage. A User-Agent string alone cannot reproduce a form submission, cookie or token.

Choose the network entry matching the operation: a page can generate redirects and many resources. If following redirects, inspect their targets rather than assuming curl navigates exactly as Firefox did. For HTTPS, curl handles CONNECT and target TLS; do not rewrite the copied request into another manual CONNECT exchange.

Before sharing the command, redact cookies, authorization and private body values while preserving method, destination and useful error context. Copying a request can copy live account data.

A successful replay establishes this curl request on the selected route. It does not reproduce browser JavaScript, cached state or all later page requests.
