Angus Mail's proxy properties belong to the selected mail provider. For a store obtained with getStore("imaps"), configure the mail.imaps namespace:

Properties properties = new Properties();
properties.setProperty("mail.imaps.proxy.host", "proxy.example.net");
properties.setProperty("mail.imaps.proxy.port", "8080");
properties.setProperty("mail.imaps.proxy.user", proxyUser);
properties.setProperty("mail.imaps.proxy.password", proxyPassword);
properties.setProperty("mail.imaps.ssl.checkserveridentity", "true");

Session session = Session.getInstance(properties);
Store store = session.getStore("imaps");

The Session and Store classes are from Jakarta Mail. Omit the proxy user and password entries for an unauthenticated proxy. For a publicly reachable IMAPS service on a permitted public route, use an HTTP candidate from the HTTP proxy list in that no-account configuration and check that it allows the mail host’s actual port. When the application connects the store, supply the actual mail-server hostname and mail account.

Selected storeProperty prefix
imap, including IMAP with STARTTLSmail.imap.
imaps, implicit TLSmail.imaps.

The provider name selects this namespace. Choosing port 993 in another property's value does not change which provider was obtained. Keep the prefix consistent across its proxy, port and TLS settings.
