The Dropbox Python SDK accepts a configured HTTP session. Its public create_session helper includes a proxies parameter:

import dropbox

session = dropbox.create_session(proxies={
    'https': 'http://proxy.example:8080',
})
client = dropbox.Dropbox(access_token, session=session)

The SDK helper returns a Requests Session with the SDK's connection-pool setup. Passing that object to Dropbox attaches it to the client's API transport; there is no need to edit dropbox/rest.py or substitute a private pool-manager class.

The dictionary key selects HTTPS destinations. The HTTP URL describes this example proxy's listener. Supply the application's normal access token separately through the client constructor. The HTTP proxy list provides endpoint candidates for an allowed public Dropbox API route without proxy authentication; it does not provide that access token.

Requests environment merging still applies to the session. If the application intentionally owns the complete route, set session.trust_env to false and supply any environment-dependent trust configuration explicitly. Otherwise retain the environment behavior required by the deployment.

The helper also accepts ca_certs for a chosen CA bundle. Keep session construction in one place and reuse the resulting client for its intended operations, so metadata and file-transfer requests share that configured transport.
