Give the Proxy-Provider API an Independent Recovery Route
Choose direct access, a stable management proxy or usable approved cached data before relying on a provider to replace a dead proxy.
Fetching a replacement through the dead proxy being replaced creates the same failure again. The provider API needs a route that is usable independently.
- For permitted direct access, use a separate cURL handle with an empty
CURLOPT_PROXYto disable inherited proxy routing. - For a stable management proxy, configure its endpoint and intended bypass policy on the provider handle.
- If using an approved cache, it must contain an endpoint usable for this recovery.
Keep the provider handle separate from the destination-download handle. Validate provider status and its returned endpoint before changing the download route. An empty response may be provider authentication, quota or service failure, not the health of a proxy.
When no independent route or usable cache exists, report that bootstrap failure. Selecting “without a proxy” cannot create direct access on a network that does not permit it.
