Set Python’s Proxy Before an Import Makes a Network Request
Use the traceback to locate Python module initialization, then provide the environment before that import or process launch.
If the traceback fails inside module initialization, the first API call may have happened during import. A proxy assignment later in the application is too late for that request.
For an environment-aware client, provide the route at launch:
http_proxy='http://proxy.example:8080' https_proxy='http://proxy.example:8080' python app.pyFor permitted public downloads, the HTTP proxy list supplies candidates for these launch-time HTTP proxy values. Python-side environment setup likewise must precede the network-making import. A client using another explicit transport needs its own supported input.
A successful import caches its module object. Changing variables and importing again normally reuses that object and its cached client; it is not a reliable initialization reset. Use documented reconfiguration or a fresh process to compare startup behavior.
