The Cloud Foundry CLI documents https_proxy for reaching its API through an intermediary. Set it in the environment that launches cf. In a POSIX shell:

export https_proxy=http://proxy.example.net:8080
cf login -a https://api.platform.example

The API URL remains the platform’s actual API endpoint. The proxy’s address belongs in https_proxy. An HTTP entry from the HTTP proxy list can supply that value for an allowed public platform API route with no proxy account. Ask the platform administrator for the API URL rather than deriving it from the proxy hostname.

An HTTP proxy URL can carry HTTPS API traffic; its http scheme describes the connection to the intermediary. For a SOCKS5 service, the documented form instead starts with socks5://.

If authentication is required, the documentation supports user information in the proxy URL. Handle that value as a credential in the intended shell or CI environment. A browser’s successful login does not establish which environment variables the separately launched CLI received.
