Find the HTTP Handler Behind a WebLogic Proxy Setting
Configure the JVM that makes a WebLogic application’s outbound call and identify whether it uses WebLogic’s handler or the JDK handler.
Find the server JVM making the call before editing WebLogic proxy options. The administration server and managed servers can have different startup arguments.
Then identify its HTTP implementation. For JDK handlers, endpoint properties are:
-Dhttp.proxyHost=proxy.example
-Dhttp.proxyPort=8080
-Dhttps.proxyHost=proxy.example
-Dhttps.proxyPort=8080
Supply them through that server's actual launch configuration. For an independently permitted public HTTP test with no proxy credentials configured, the HTTP proxy list can supply candidate host and port values. A domain script affects launches reading it; a service or Node Manager startup needs its own effective inputs checked.
Oracle documents -DUseSunHttpHandler=true for choosing the JDK handler instead of WebLogic's own handler. Select it as an implementation decision, not as a missing credential property. A private HTTP client can instead require its builder or route planner.
Preserve existing options, apply any required restart through deployment procedure and inspect effective values in the JVM that failed. Changing another managed server can leave convincing configuration on disk without affecting this request.
