A PuTTY dynamic forwarding normally accepts connections only from the PC running PuTTY. Another LAN computer cannot reach a listener bound to that PC’s loopback address.

In Connection → SSH → Tunnels, enable “Local ports accept connections from other hosts” for the intended shared listener. Select Dynamic, enter a source port such as 1080, then add the forwarding. Dynamic forwarding does not need a fixed destination.

PuTTY documents that changes to the visibility option affect new forwardings. For an existing dynamic listener, recreate that forwarding with the intended setting rather than assuming its current socket was rebound.

The other computer selects the PuTTY PC’s reachable LAN address and port 1080 as its SOCKS server. Its own 127.0.0.1 would refer to itself. Permit only the intended LAN clients through the PC’s firewall and keep the SSH session active.

PuTTY carries supported SOCKS TCP connections over SSH. It does not forward SOCKS UDP traffic, and this local listener setting is separate from visibility controls for remote SSH forwards.
