WinSCP’s Check Point Style FTP Login Has Two Usernames
Select the FTP gateway login template that combines the destination user, proxy user and destination host.
For the Check Point style FTP gateway format, select FTP as WinSCP’s session protocol and choose this method on Advanced Site Settings’ Proxy page:
USER %user@%proxyuser@%host
The placeholders represent the destination FTP username, gateway username and destination host. Enter the destination account in the site settings and the gateway endpoint and account in the proxy settings; let WinSCP expand the selected template.
This gateway speaks an FTP login convention. Selecting HTTP CONNECT or SOCKS instead asks for a different handshake, even if the same hostname appears in all examples.
The template is one supported FTP gateway method. Choose it only when it matches the administrator’s required conversation; other FTP proxies can require separate USER, SITE or OPEN steps.
