When a Guzzle operation must ignore a configured proxy, pass an explicit empty proxy option on that request:

$response = $client->request('GET', 'https://example.com/', [
    'proxy' => '',
    'timeout' => 15,
]);

This makes the route choice visible at the call site. It is more precise than temporarily removing environment variables while other requests use the same process.

Keep the distinction between an omitted option and an explicit empty value. Omitting the option can leave client defaults or environment-derived configuration in effect. A custom handler or middleware can also alter options, so inspect the application's actual handler stack if the route still differs.

The empty proxy option does not disable HTTPS certificate verification. Keep those controls separate. When comparing a direct request with a proxied one, use the same destination and record both the selected route and the actual response.
