Set Proxy Environment Variables in VS Code’s Integrated Terminal
terminal.integrated.env is a separate input from the editor's http.proxy preference.
"terminal.integrated.env.linux": {
"http_proxy": "http://proxy.example:8080",
"https_proxy": "http://proxy.example:8080"
}Merge this Linux fragment with existing terminal environment settings, then open a new terminal. For public downloads that may use a public intermediary, build the HTTP URL values from the HTTP proxy list. Use the corresponding env.osx/env.windows entry for the shell platform. Startup shell files may replace those values.
Alternatively, start the first VS Code process from the intended environment. A later code window can use the already-running process rather than that new shell's values.
terminal.integrated.inheritEnv affects Linux/macOS inheritance and has no effect on Windows. It does not declare the required variables itself.
For WSL, SSH or containers, apply settings where the terminal runs and use a listener reachable there. Marketplace success only tests the editor request; it does not establish a remote pip/Git route.
