OneDrive IgnoreWebProxy: Bypass Proxy Detection for Direct Access
IgnoreWebProxy bypasses detection for the sync client; it supplies neither a missing direct route nor proxy credentials.
For an approved direct route, the policy Configure the sync client to bypass web proxy detection maps to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\OneDrive
IgnoreWebProxy = DWORD 1Enabled means OneDrive skips proxy detection and attempts its required Internet destinations directly, as though no fixed/PAC proxy were set.
Disabled permits normal detection. Manage those states explicitly: Microsoft's guidance notes that returning a configured policy to Not Configured can leave its registry value.
The network must allow direct access. This cannot authenticate to a required proxy, and Microsoft's documented restriction still excludes authenticated proxies.
A browser's route is separate from this sync-client policy. WinHTTP imports, firewall permissions and old SkyDrive workarounds configure other things.
