If the values return only in new GNOME terminals, inspect its child-environment production as well as Bash startup. The integration maps desktop HTTP/HTTPS/FTP into corresponding variables, SOCKS into all_proxy and ignored hosts into no_proxy; inherited values are another input.

For an interactive Bash policy deliberately clearing the endpoint inputs:

unset http_proxy https_proxy ftp_proxy all_proxy
unset HTTP_PROXY HTTPS_PROXY FTP_PROXY ALL_PROXY

Place this after startup assignments that would restore them. It affects subsequent shell children, not already running commands.

Graphical apps can still use the desktop configuration. Explicit command options and client-owned settings also remain separate. Clearing these variables is a chosen CLI policy, not a change to GNOME's saved proxy.
